I recently moved from Sweden to FInland. It was a major effort. I wrote about it in the Hive blockchain.

I might publish the blog article here as well, later. But my intention now is not to talk about that move, but the move from Bluesky to Eurosky. Man, did I fumble it up big time. The end result is ok, I am moving, but I could have moved EFFORTLESSLY. Instead, I made it a hassle.

Everyone has been telling me that Bluesky (Atmosphere) is not like Mastodon. I did successfully move my Mastodon account to another server a few years back. So, since everyone has kept (yes, I blame "everyone".) telling me Bluesky is not like Mastodon, there was no thought in my head that there would be an easy way to move to another PDS. So I of course started a new Eurosky account and clicked some 1400 followers I had on Bluesky handle and followed them yesterday evening.

So now I just wait, that if I am lucky some 40-50% of them might find me here... maybe, right?

Its not about the loss of followers but loss of connections. Obviously I cannot remove my Bluesky account now immediately. And, I take pride in myself being a tech savvy lady and now I made a n00b mistake like this. I blame it on the fact that I was multitasking, I work as a moderator so I was doing my work on the side. Yes. Bad, bad me.

There are gaps in between when I receive messages that I need to moderate / check, so I sometimes have ten seconds, and yesterday I seemed to have at times, 2-3 minutes in between messages. So I though heck, I'll just do something to pass my time in the meantime. Eh. So I can only blame myself.

But I am now on Eurosky and whereas I had 1,286 followers on Bluesky, I now have 290 followers in Eurosky.
