Every kitchen has that one pot holder. Very old, maybe little burned, but still best one. You know what I mean. Now Ristijärvi wants to find the most beautiful pot holder in whole village! For Ämmäinviikko. For this word, a rough translation would be the Week of the Bitches. Yes, seriously! 😂 They even select the Bitch of the Week. (Or an old hag actually would be a little nicer name for this.)

In 2023 they selected a little Bitch that was actually a toddler called Jasmin. Yupp. We did that, apparently.

So, anyway, back to potholders. If you have a handmade pot holder in your drawer, on the wall, or you use it every day. Whatever the case, you can join this.

Just bring it to service point in Aholantie 25 before 23.10. They will put number on it for an exhibition. All pot holders will be in Kyläkaivo and people can look and vote. Who gets most votes, wins! Winner is being selected on Monday 2.11.2026.

It doesn't matter if crocheted, knit, sewn or something else crazy. All of them are okay.
